ISPIE

ISPIE, or the Institute of Specialist Practitioners in Inclusive Education, is a professional body registered as a Non Profit Organization. It comprises of individuals who are health professionals, educators and other appropriately qualified and/or experienced persons working in the area of Inclusive Education.

ISPIE aims to:

  • develop, award and monitor relevant designations in area of Inclusive Education;
  • promote CPD through the development of specialist designations;
  • continuously update practitioners’ knowledge and skills through talks, conferences, workshops, interactive web site and an annual newsletter;
  • ensure quality and ethical services are provided by its members through adherence to the code of ethics and ongoing learning;
  • negotiate for professional indemnity and public liability;
  • ouality assure continuing professional development activities of other providers;
  • facilitate sharing and communication between practitioners and researchers;
  • maintain international links with similar professional bodies, research and training institutes;
  • promote an understanding and recognition of barriers to learning;
  • provide learning opportunities for ongoing practitioner development and to maintain professional designation;
  • advocate and negotiate for the recognition of prior learning of members;
  • support the development of contextualized Inclusive Education Practices.
